The AI Has Replaced the Testers and the Green Agenda Has Replaced Common Sense and I Am Watching Both

Oliver Granthe on the AI catastrophe, the Linux France situation, and the signs that are clearly signs

By Oliver Granthe — anonymous — for Bohiney Magazine and The London Prat.

Dispatch, Undisclosed Location. Still Watching. Chair Slightly Better.

Two stories this week confirm what I have been documenting since 2021. First: a Chief Executive has dismissed his entire quality assurance team and replaced them with an artificial intelligence that priced products at zero and called it strategy. This is what happens when you remove the humans who say “hang on a moment.” I refer you to my newsletter of February 2023, “On the Removal of Institutional Sceptics.” Nobody read it at the time. They should read it now. The car boot sale is what I predicted.

Second: France cannot afford Microsoft Windows. Britain is watching nervously. I am watching Britain watching nervously. This is a chain of observation that I find satisfying. France’s fiscal situation is the direct consequence of forty years of socialist budget management and a refusal to accept that you cannot run a modern state on the premise that cheese and wine are sufficient economic outputs.

The Larger Pattern

What connects the AI catastrophe and the French Linux situation is this: both are consequences of removing competent oversight in favour of ideology. The Chief Executive had an ideology about AI efficiency. The French government has an ideology about state spending. Both have now encountered reality at speed. Reality does not negotiate.

I am also watching the Green agenda, which is removing our boilers and replacing them with ideology. According to BBC Politics, net zero commitments remain government policy. My newsletter remains on schedule. I have updated my chair. Vigilance is long work.
